Clinical Pharmacy

"The right medication, the right time, the right dose…"

Clinical Pharmacy is a health science discipline in which clinical pharmacists provide patient care that optimizes medication therapy and promotes health, wellness, and disease prevention.

The practice of clinical pharmacy blends a caring orientation with specialized medication and disease knowledge, experience, and judgment for the purpose of ensuring optimal patient outcomes. The Clinical Pharmacy Department promotes optimal patient outcomes through the use of safe, appropriate, and cost-effective medication therapies.

The Clinical Pharmacy Department collaborates with the Central Pharmacy to ensure appropriate, accurate, and timely dispensing of medications to patients.

Clinical pharmacists are recognized as providing a unique set of knowledge and skills to the health care system and are therefore qualified to assume the role of "drug therapy experts." They counsel patients on medications and provide them with instructions on proper medications use and detailed print out calendars.
